Neighborhood Parents Network of Chicago (NPN) is the largest organized parent resource network in the city of Chicago. As the trusted source for parent-to-parent interaction, support and guidance for nearly 30 years, NPN has helped strong families build strong communities!
Mission: Connecting a diverse community of families with the resources they need to navigate parenting in the city.
NPN facilitates a variety of ways for parents to exchange information, whether online or in person, within one’s own neighborhood. Our services include, but are not limited to, the following:
Parent-to-Parent Interaction
- Social groups for parents organized by 12 neighborhood locations
- Support groups such as Expectant Moms, New Moms, Moms of Multiples, Same Sex Parents, Working Moms and more
- On-line Discussion Forums where members communicate about everything from childcare to healthcare, from hot topics to the weekend's hot events
Parent Education Opportunities
- Parent to Parent Magazine - our quarterly publication written by parents for parents
- Parent University Speaker Series - our highly popular seminars featuring professionals from a variety of fields discussing what today’s families want to know, such as financial planning, healthy eating, greener living, school choice and more
School Choice Resources
- Annual NPN Preschool and Elementary School Fair - featuring representatives from Chicago's public and private schools, enrichment programs, and local businesses - nearly 1,000 members attend each year
- Online and printed NPN Preschool and Elementary School Directories – providing vital information about Chicago’s public and private preschool and elementary schools, including test scores, class size, application deadlines, and more
