Kindergarten Philosophies

Event details

Choosing the right Kindergarten for your child can be a daunting task, especially in Chicago where there are so many options.  With so many different kindergarten philosophies, how do you know which philosophy works for you and your family?

In this session you will learn about kindergarten philosophies and types of instruction found in kindergarten classrooms. You will learn about arts-integrated, inquiry-based, responsive, and differentiated instruction, how they overlap, and where they differ. You will walk away from this discussion understanding:

1. How to ask the right questions to figure out which philosophy and instruction is the best fit for your child

2. The benefits of each philosophy and type of instruction

3. What a typical day is like in each type of classroom

There will be time for Q&A at the end!  Our esteemed school panel consists of:

Annessa Staab, Associate Director of Enrollment Management, Latin School of Chicago

Renata McAdams, Dean of Students & Lead Teacher 3rd - 5th Grade, Chicago Friends School

Melanie Ahmad, Director of enrollment and Tuition Management, The Ancona School
